The gray screen of an Etch A Sketch is thick and flat, enclosed in a red plastic frame. On the front of the frame, in the lower corners, are two white knobs. A solid line is left on the screen's back when aluminum powder is moved by turning the knobs. Lineographic images are produced by the knobs. The stylus may be moved horizontally with the left control and vertically with the right control.
